Writing

Substack

I write about music, sports, and other pop culture happenings on my substack. A lot of the music journalism I did with WKCO Radio is also available on my substack! You can find my writing here!

Senior Exercise

As a senior history major, I wrote my “comps” on the impact of entertainment media (magazines, radio, and television) on gender roles, consumerism, and anti-communism during the Cold War. I began my research my sophomore year of college and completed the paper in February of 2024. I received a High Pass on the exercise which included the paper, a presentation to the history department, and a defense of the paper.

Awards

In the spring of 2024, I was awarded the Chalmers Library Research Award for a draft of my paper “Did ‘Father Know Best?’ How Post-WWII Entertainment Media Shaped The Idealized American Family Through Consumerism and Patriotism.” This was the first year that the award was given and my paper is highlighted on Digital Kenyon. This paper also earned me a high pass in the History Department.

Political Science Honors Thesis

I was an editor for two Honors Theses in the Kenyon College’s Political Science department during the Fall of 2023 and Spring of 2024. Cecilia Crawford wrote about Nuclear Weaponry throughout the Cold War and Penelope Birnbaum wrote about Health Care Policy in the United States. I led the charge on footnoting and creating a bibliography, as well as ensuring their papers were formatted correctly according to the Chicago Style.
